Influences for my Magazine

I found that I had many different things influence the choices that I made for my magazine, but when speaking about what other magazines I looked at to see conventions that were traditional and those that had been broken , I found a wide range. Looking and researching with magazines from Cosmopolitan to Vibe to Q , I saw a wide range of techniques used by publishers in their magazines.

Influenced the layout of my front cover
The Vibe magazine was a very big help as thy target the same audience that I attempted to with my audience. They look at more of an urban , hip-hop influence market of people and even though my magazine appeals to a larger market ; having a magazine like to refer to was very helpful in the development of my front cover. Using a well known music artist such as Kanye West in this case, attracts the attention of the reader as he is a very influence man in music. He creates music to a wide audience where it is something that can be liked and appreciated by many people.

I found that some of my influences when it came to celebrities and artists consisted of mainly female artists that had recently made a large difference in the way that the music industry is viewed on the role of women. Jessie J is a up and coming artist from Essex. She has had a large impact of the way women are viewed in the eyes of music. She created a song ' Do It Like A Dude ' explaining ho women are as fierce as men and shouldn't be looked at as being less. She has had colaborations with the likes of B.O.B  and I have related her funky and innovative style to the way my models who are female are seen in my magazine. I have made them to empowered the way men are and they take a dominant role in what I have created.

First album and she is already signed to Island Records in the UK and Republic in USA - all being under the Universal name.

The introduction of musician Nicki Minaj blew up last year . She was seen to be the ideal female for a man and her ' dream body ' made her very popular with males. She was later intercepted by the female sex as they development of her rap music was seen. She was sseen to get better in each song that she wrote and track that she made. Having the backing and support of  Young Money creator , Lil Wayne , she has become one of the most liked and favouritised female rappers since Lil Kim. Collaborating from artists like Natasha Bedingfield to Rihanna - she has made a big impact in her input to the music industry, empowering and embracing women in each of her songs. She has also had a visible influence on young females who having arapping and writing talent as they are becoming brave enough to post their work on youtube, allowing for there to be a wider range of up and coming talented young females as well as males.
Only album that she has made so far , but she has made herself known on songs that she has featured on.

Rihanna has developed her career by making statements in her music, lifestyle and haircolour. She started in the industry about 3-6 years ago and from there she has just continously improved - breaking stereotypes that the media and people had formed of her. She has made a name for herself with the music she has and continues to create. The change in her style , being her dress sense and colour to her hair cause for many of her fans to take heed and dye their hair the striking colour of red. She has allowed for their to be a change in the way people, especially women restrict themselves in everyday life, allowing them to ' step out of the box ' and be themselves.

Rihanna's new hair and new album - something that many fans have taken into consideration showing how much of an influence she has.
